How much should I expect to pay for landscaping?

I have a very small front yard. The area I want to re-do is about 100 sq ft or less. The front yard is horrible but yet I need to save money to hire a landscape company. I have Bird of Paradise that I want to get rid of as well.
How much should I expect to pay for landscaping? I just need a very broad estimate.

yeah, pondlady is within the ball park……..$10 per square foot. Seems excessive, but it costs the workers money just to get there and back to the shop, to the dump with refuse, purchase plant material, gravel, etc, etc. They have a minimum cost for rolling up to your house…….rather like a repairman’s “service call” plus labor and parts.
I suspect you’ll be able to get it done for less……maybe $750.
